Microsoft Dynamics D365 Finance & Supply Chain (Operations) is a very complex product and therefore, we can not give any kind of fixed pricing.  In our professional opinion, if you have decided that this is the right solution for your organization or are thinking that it is closest, you should follow the process of a business process review (also called business requirements gathering or needs analysis).  This would consist of having solution architects familiar with each area of the business and the solution in order to review your “what is our process today” which enables us to ensure the solution can do what you have done, but more importantly, can do what you need using best practices for going forward.

Just because that is how you did it, does not mean that this is how you will do it going forward!  Why would you spend all this money to do what you have always done?  Would you not want to review your financial data differently?  Do you really need to print paper reports going forward?  Are there better ways to analyze our business areas differently?  All very important points.

Once this step is done we can put together a more comprehensive quote on what it would take to get you to a go live status on the new system while ensuring that the areas that were not a 100% fit are reviewed carefully in order to determine if this requires some modification, customization or perhaps an ISV that has already done what you need.

Implementations are critical to your organization and to make sure you have success, you want to have a “Product Champion” on your side who becomes your chief decision maker.  No one every got through a meeting with consensus from a room full of people!
